We have offices in Bridgend and London in the UK and Atlanta in the US. We have teams based across locations in India, the US and the UK. The Business Development Executive, Life Sciences role will be based in either the UK or the US East Coast.
The role reports to the EVP of Population Health and Life Sciences and will contribute to the development of the company’s life sciences business and will also work closely with the EVP of Business Development.
Job description
The purpose of the role is to support the development of near-term net new revenue from existing and prospective pharma customers. For named global pharma accounts and/or targeted prospects, the role will be responsible for Clinithink’s engagement with key customers and partners in the life sciences market segment to:
• win net new and repeat business with the named accounts;
• facilitate the conception and ideation of value-adding projects based on Clinithink technology with those accounts;
• oversee the successful delivery of projects to these accounts using Clinithink’s CLiX unlock enterprise and CLiX panoramic solutions and appropriate methodologies.
These solutions are used by customers and partners to analyse large volumes of narrative clinical documents and create abstracted outputs which serve a specific purpose relevant to a particular project, usually in Commercial Real World Evidence (RWE) work, Medical Affairs or evidence generation work and Late Phase Clinical Trials. These projects involve the use of licensed Clinithink technology and relevant professional services (in house or via subcontractors) to find and characterise very narrowly-defined patient cohorts based on detailed clinical and social criteria.
A typical project will involve initial ideation with the customer/partner, scoping, contracting and then delivery. The delivery phase involves securing relevant approvals, detailed analysis to drive configuration of Clinithink solutions, iterative data runs and visualisation of results to produce the necessary outputs, write up of project reports including interpretation of findings and/or publication material and finally transition to business as usual, where appropriate. Most projects involve some but not all of these stages or activities, some require all stages. In the capacity of delivery oversight, the role is responsible for ensuring these projects are successfully delivered to the customer’s satisfaction, leveraging a multi-disciplinary Clinithink team comprising on-shore and off-shore specialists.
This is an exciting opportunity in a leading and rapidly growing healthcare technology company to help shape the future of traditional activities in the life sciences industry by leveraging AI and RWE in entirely novel and powerful ways.
Key responsibilities
• Develop net new licensing agreements with existing pharma customers;
• Develop prospective project opportunities for agreed target global pharma accounts and/or partners;
• Work with those customer/prospects to facilitate high level project concept design that differentiates the Clinithink offering while remaining deliverable and creating meaningful value for the customer;
• Work with the customer contracts and commercial teams to support contracting for MSAs and SoWs under those MSAs with the named prospects.
• Ensure new projects are contracted in a way which optimises the delivery model in terms of risk and value;
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of new projects to successful completion against executed SoWs;
• Leverage existing multi-disciplinary on-shore and off-shore specialists as a single virtual delivery team to achieve successful project delivery;
• Maintain and mange senior customer and partner stakeholder engagement throughout the delivery cycle;
• Continue to interact with senior customer and partner stakeholders to help conceptualise and scope new/follow-on projects.
Skills and experience
The role requires extensive experience in the life sciences RWE and R&D markets. The breadth of projects supported is very wide, anything from Alzheimer’s to diabetes to lung cancer so an ability to rapidly assimilate new clinical domains which might be unfamiliar is essential. The successful applicant will be comfortable managing relationships with senior stakeholders in life science and healthcare provider organisations. The role also requires some previous exposure to technology used in an RWE context. The post holder will also have a strong track record of successful sale and delivery of technology-abled RWE life science projects.
